چکیده
Background It has been reported that some post-COVID patients develop cognitive impairment once they overcome the acute condition. Method Severe 19 admitted to hospitalization for rehabilitation between October 2020 and July 2021 were included, performance of a control group had no history COVID was compared. Patients with central neurological history, disorders consciousness, or psychiatric excluded. An abbreviated assessment performed. The T test used continuous variables normal distribution, Mann Whitney otherwise. For dichotomous variables, Chi used. Significant: p<0.05. Result A total 196 severe (SCA) 41 did not present exclusion criteria able carry out complete evaluation. (C) made up 25 similar characteristics. median age PCG 60 years (IQ 47-69), 56.10% male. Group C 63 56-69), 80% mean schooling 13 both groups. Early or Late Feeding after ICU Admission?
The feeding of critically ill patients has recently become a controversial issue, as several studies have provided unexpected and contradictory results. Earlier beliefs regarding energy requirements in critical illness-especially during the initial phase-have been challenged. In the current review, we summarize existing evidence about fasting and the impact of early vs. late feeding on the sick...
متن کاملInfluence of ICU-bed availability on ICU admission decisions
BACKGROUND The potential influence of bed availability on triage to intensive care unit (ICU) admission is among the factors that may influence the ideal ratio of ICU beds to population: thus, high bed availability (HBA) may result in the admission of patients too well or too sick to benefit, whereas bed scarcity may result in refusal of patients likely to benefit from ICU admission. METHODS ...
متن کاملTriage of Patients Consulted for ICU Admission During Times of ICU-Bed Shortage
BACKGROUND The demand for specialized medical services such as critical care often exceeds availability, thus rationing of intensive care unit (ICU) beds commonly leads to difficult triage decisions. Many factors can play a role in the decision to admit a patient to the ICU, including severity of illness and the need for specific treatments limited to these units. Although triage decisions woul...

Severe idiopathic nontraumatic posterior nasal epistaxis is an otolaryngologic emergency that occurs primarily in middle aged and elderly individuals who often have underlying chronic cardiac ...
